Spring is almost here, and we couldn’t be more excited! Vancouver comes alive in springtime and with COVID restrictions lifting, there are plenty of events happening in the coming months. From the annual Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival to the Canada Rugby Sevens tournament, check out the top 3 local events happening in Vancouver this spring.

Chilliwack Tulip Festival

The Chilliwack Tulip Festival is back in all its beauty this April. One of the top attractions in the Fraser Valley, guests from all over Metro Vancouver flock to Chilliwack in the spring to marvel at rows upon rows of blooming tulips. This local springtime festival features over one million tulips spanning 20 acres. In addition, it features 25 varieties of tulips, as well as 16 types of daffodils and 10 varieties of hyacinths. The date is still TBA as it’s weather dependent, so check their website towards the end of March.

Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival

Yet another floral springtime event in the city is the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival. The 16th annual festival is tentatively scheduled to run from April 1st until April 23rd, with live public events taking place all over the city during this time. The festival will kick off with the Big Picnic featuring a Haiku poetry invitational and the annual Cherry Jam Concert at the Burrard SkyTrain Station.

Canada Rugby Sevens

The HSBC Canada Rugby Sevens returns to Vancouver this spring. This international rugby tournament is taking over BC Place for four days next month (the men’s tournament is on April 16th and 17th and the women’s tournament is on April 30th and May 1st). If you’re a fan of rugby, then this is a must-attend event. Plus, the Hotel BLU Vancouver is running a special promo that includes buy 1 get 1 free Sevens Reserved Tournament passes if you book a two-night stay via StayVancouverHotels.com (*more details below).

If you’re going to be in Vancouver this spring, then be sure to attend any of the local events above. And if you need a place to stay during your trip, we’d love to have you at the Hotel BLU Vancouver. We offer luxe amenities and a top-notch location.
