The holidays have nearly arrived in Vancouver and with them a whole slew of festive events. From the VanDusen Botanical Garden’s annual Festival of Lights to a downtown Christmas market filled with local vendors, check out the top three can’t-miss holiday events in Vancouver.

VanDusen Festival of Lights 2021

The VanDusen Botanical Garden is a must-visit in Vancouver. It’s beautiful year-round, whether you’re marveling at the cherry blossom trees in spring or the rose garden in summer. However, one of our favourite times of year to visit is over the holidays. Why? It’s all thanks to the annual VanDusen Festival of Lights. Kicking off November 26th, the VanDusen Botanical Garden will be transformed into a magical winter wonderland. More than one million lights will be illuminated for all to see. Holiday-themed treats and music will also be on-site.

Vancouver Christmas Market

Who doesn’t love a holiday-themed Christmas market? Get your shopping done early by planning a trip to the Vancouver Christmas Market. Set up in Jack Poole Plaza, this festive holiday market is set to feature a range of local vendors selling everything from artisanal candles and homemade jewelry to CBD-infused skincare and handcrafted chocolate. Whether you’re looking to eat or shop, you’ll be sure to love this Christmas market.

Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park

If there’s one can’t-miss holiday event in Vancouver, it has to be the Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. Hundreds of thousands of Vancouverites flock to this North Vancouver park each year to marvel at the glittering lights that are set up in November. This year, Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park kicks off on November 20th and lasts until January 23rd. As per usual, the world-famous bridge will be lit, end to end, and will even feature a colour-changing display.  Stroll among the canopy treetops surrounded by a sea of glittering Christmas lights - it doesn’t get much more festive than this!

If you’re going to be in Vancouver this holiday season, then be sure to partake in the festive activities above. And if you need a place to stay during your trip, we’d love to host you at the Hotel BLU Vancouver. We combine luxe amenities and a cozy atmosphere with an unbeatable location in Vancouver.
